About the Homestead
Ažuluokesos Homestead — Your Oasis in Nature
Ažuluokesos is a unique complex of three separate homesteads, nestled in a stunning corner of Molėtai district on the lakeshore. Each homestead has its own yard, direct lake access, and full living amenities.
You can rent one or several cottages — two Scandinavian-style cottages (4 sleeping places each) or the Grand Holiday Cottage (8 sleeping places). Total complex capacity is up to 16 guests. Minimum stay during season — 2 nights.
The sauna (€70) is available to all guests. The hot tub (€90) is available to Grand Holiday Cottage guests only. Paddleboards are available to rent at €15 per day — a great way to explore Luokesai Lake.
Nearly 3,000 Years of History Beside the Homestead
Luokesai Lake is special not only for its crystal-clear water. Right beside the Ažuluokesos homestead, hidden beneath the lake's surface, lie the remains of one of Lithuania's most fascinating archaeological sites — the ruins of ancient pile-dwelling settlements.
People lived on the shores of Luokesai Lake some 2,600–2,800 years ago. Settlements were built on wooden stilts in the shallow water, traces of which survive on the lake bed to this day.
So when rowing a boat or gliding on a paddleboard across Luokesai Lake, it is worth remembering — people lived on these shores long before the beginning of our era.
